The owners’ main goal for the design – particularly the kitchen – was a beautiful, elegant showpiece for the front kitchen with room for a messy back section – where the real work is done! It needed to be practical and child friendly – and should be an extension of the overall interior design of the home.
The kitchen is positioned immediately in line with the entrance and is visible from most angles of this level of the home. The glass floor-to-ceiling windows on the west side of the kitchen floods it with light and reflects from the water below – so one of our goals was to mitigate the intense light with darker light-absorbing surfaces.
