CLOUD APARTMENT

Details

This 120 sqm apartment is all about the spectacular full frontal aspect of the Opera House, Bridge and the Harbour views. The interior had already been stripped back when we started, which gave us some freedom in space planning, apart from the plumbing positions.

Every square centimetre of space was accounted for in fulfilling the brief – to maximize storage – creating: An Entry Lobby; Laundry; Master Bedroom with WIR and En-suite, Living/Dining/Kitchen/Bar Facility; Study; Bathroom and Guest Bedroom. The adjoining spaces relate to each other and despite accommodating all the above in the floor plan, the apartment has a feeling of space and calm with a focus towards the view.

Contrasts are celebrated in the detailing. Material selection and placement heighten the spatial articulation and underpin the textural transformation. This we developed with a hierarchy of texture from masculine and raw to refined, elegant and minimal – creating a dynamic design language and finishes palette. It’s crisp, sharp but relaxed.

There is a real sense of home in this small apartment – the design has achieved the brief and taken the owner’s expectations far beyond their imagination.
